Kate’s an experienced factual presenter and reporter across daytime and primetime programming on the BBC, ITV, Five and Animal Planet. Her rigorous journalistic sense, coupled with her ability to get ‘stuck in’, has seen her door-stepping and undercover reporting on MacIntyre’s Big Sting for Five and exposing the world of internet dating for BBC Real Story. This ‘hands on’ approach has led to Kate becoming the face of the Two Six programme for The Royal Navy where she has experienced everything from working with the Northern Diving Group to interviewing soldiers bound for, and returning from, Afghanistan.
Kate studied Geography and Conservation at Nottingham University before indulging her wanderlust by travelling around the world. Her adventurous streak has seen her walking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and trekking around East Africa before reporting on the travel show Wish You Were Here. Her enthusiasm for walking and wildlife was invaluable as a rural reporter on ITV’s Countrywise, Project Puppy for Animal Planet and Pet Project for Five.
Having presented shows such as DIY SOS for the BBC and I Want That House for ITV it isn’t surprising that property development has featured in Kate’s off-screen activities too. Her passion for property has seen her redevelop 2 commercial units, and go on to open a retail outlet in the north west – enabling her to pursue her interest in small business development.
Having begun her TV Career as a runner Kate went on to acquire extensive production credentials before becoming an accomplished presenter on both live and pre-recorded shows in studio and on location. One of Kate’s major strengths as a presenter is her ability to bring out the best in people whatever the situation. She’s fun and quick witted but at the same time can be serious and thoughtful.
